How many minutes can you get on a prepaid phone

I was just wondering the other day about prepaid phones, and how many minutes you can get on them to make them worth it. I know that there are many people who get them and only get an hour, and give it to their kid for school just in case they ever need anything. I actually would really like to get one that has about 1500 minutes on it. I am just not sure that I have ever heard of one with that many minutes. But if i can find it, like with Att Prepaid Cell Phone Service, I think i will buy it for sure.
