A mental patient can be a functional employee, depending on the degree of his mental
impairment. I am a mental patient who has schizophrenia but I am lucky because my three
bosses in freelance writing are accepting of my condition. They proved to be compassionate
people who think that, as long as I can prove I can do the work, I am a good employee and have a personality influencing organizational behavior.
However, mental patients should accept that they have their limitations due to their
illness. Some work goals will always remain unreachable regardless of degree of effort
exerted.
