The future of wireless networking
Filed Under Computers & Technology :: Networking | Leave a Comment
In the future we may all have a Wireless Network Bluetooth set up that eliminates wires from our computers all together. They are working on building a computer that uses different blue tooth frequencies (that change like any bluetooth frequency for security) to connect the components inside and outside the computer wirelessly. This will be an interesting set up as it will mean a cleaner looking desktop and components will sit on the desk like a flower vase does, movable without knocking anything over! After this the next thing coming is wireless electricity, how cool would that be! The world is changing…

Looking Into Wireless Broadband For Laptops
Filed Under Computers & Technology :: Networking | Leave a Comment
I’ve recently become interested in Wireless Broadband for Laptops.
I’m tired of spending my days in a soul-sucking office. I want to get out more, and a wireless laptop can help.
I’ve been researching Laptop Internet on the Internet. There are some good choices out there.
It’s not cheap, but I think the added freedom will be worth the expense.
Please comment and let me know what you think.

I’ve recently become interested in Cat6 Cable.
I don’t have a ton of cash to spend on techs, so I’m going to have to run the cable myself.
Of course learning about Cat6 wire is not a big deal. It’s just a minor hassle.
I figure that it will be a good thing to know how to do down the line anyway.
I’ll post more soon.

Network performance issues can be like a ghost sometimes. Sometimes you see a problem and sometimes you don’t. Why, Why, Why I cry. If you want a consistently fast network you need to find out what the heck is slowing your network down. So how do you do that? It is not an easy thing to do even with the right software. Network performance management software can tell you if there is a problem and when but can your software tell you where the most likely problem is? I doubt it.

Thoughts On Finding A Wireless Internet Laptop
Filed Under Computers & Technology :: Networking | Leave a Comment
Working from home is great and all, but man do I get a nasty case of cabin fever sometimes. I’m thinking of investing in a
wireless Internet laptop so I can get out and be around people more often. Maybe get a little sun and look a little less like gollum.
Seriously, I can’t imagine why it took so long for Laptop Wireless Connection to become popular. Working from anywhere - what’s not to like? It’s like having a new office every day. So much nicer than the depressing cube I used to be stuck in.
Where to work tomorrow? Starbucks? The library? The park even? So many choices.
What do you think?

I just bought a
wireless laptop, and not a moment too soon. Now I can work in cafes and other such places with people and sunlight and no big piles of laundry and bills to remind me of all the other crap I need to get done. Working from home is seriously overrated.

I think my next “office” will be the local brew pub. Working on pub grub, Guinness in hand - sounds good to me.

I honestly don’t know how I got along before the invention of The Wireless Laptop. Now I can work anywhere. Being able to work from home is great and all, but it gets old fast when there’s no one around to keep you company.

We are replacing our cat 3 cable with cat 5 cable.
Filed Under Computers & Technology :: Networking | Leave a Comment
We are replacing our cat 3 cable with cat 5 cable. The cable was run quite a while ago when we first moved into our home and set up our computer network. Since I work at home on the computer and my children use the computer a lot for schoolwork, I find that we often have trouble with the connection and the speed of downloads. Although there is nothing wrong with the cables, we would prefer to have cat 5 cable installed. It performs better than cat 3 cable, so our connections will not be lost and downloads will be faster.

Designs for wireless networks are essential for forming virtual offices anywhere in the industry. Wireless is inherently a shared medium, and bridging of Ethernet connections between locations is particularly attractive, due to the cost savings. Designs for wireless networks are essential for providing communications for mobile users, and while radio communications are useful in providing good coverage over large areas, the data transfer rates achievable with it is limited compared to the data transfer rates achievable with fixed networks. These networks can form virtual offices anywhere in the industry. As time goes on, more and more wireless designs are beginning to come into the existing networks. Designing a wireless network is to fully understand its balancing, coverage, and capacity.
