The knowledge level of individual competencies varied from department to department in our organization.  One manager knew what his people could do if put into positions outside their current assignment.   Others had a vague knowledge of the skills their people possessed but most were just happy if the employees could do the job assigned.  I had a feeling we were wasting a lot of talent and possibly loosing valuable employees because they were bored with their work.  Peoplesoft Workforce Planning by Oracle gave me the handle I needed.   Now my managers,  as well as myself,  know what their people are trained to do and we can make reassignments faster.  workforce planning is a very powerful tool.

 

If you are applying for one or the other federal job with the OPM or the office of personnel management, then you would obviously be concerned about the pay scale. Pa scale for opm federal jobs is dependent to a great extent on the qualification of an applicant. Your salary is an indication of the grade and general qualifications that you possess. However the general schedule pay is determined on the basis of geographical factors. But majority of the jobs pay higher. If you are applying for jobs outside U.S. then you may get a salary which is higher by 10% or 25%. Difficult jobs in fields like scientific and technical fields may also have higher salaries.

 

I’ve been checking into Lean Manufacturing Principles for our company recently. I think it has potential to improve our efficiency, which is something we need badly if we’re going to survive.
From what I can tell, Lean Manufacturing Jobs would be of such great benefit for us that it would be worth the difficult changes we’d have to make.
With expenses rising every day, efficiency is absolutely critical.

I figure learning more about flow charts and business maps could help us get our house in order here.
I’ve been doing some research on Process Mapping Shapes. I’ve had good luck - there’s a lot of good info online.
I’m not normally one for overly formalized processes, but we’ve gotten to the point where more organization is needed.

Lean Manufacturing Techniques lately. Our company is in dire need of improvements in efficiency, and I think that these methods could help us.
From what I’ve read about Lean Manufacturing Principles, I think it could be worth the difficult adjustment in the end. It will be a tough road, though.
I think big improvements in efficiency will be absolutely critical for our ongoing success.

Good training and professional development are vital for employees in any business, company, organization, or institution. Even non-profit organizations will function better when employees are exposed to good development and learning opportunities. These training sessions can be done in-house or employees can be sent to special seminars and workshops. It will cost some money from the budget but the education is of prime importance for a company to survive in these technological times. Good knowledge beginnings will help everyone produce more and become a better employee. There is also profit in working as a team. For this you will also need special training.

The Docent Learning Management System should project a certain business value in one of two ways. The first being the learning system should support the strategic creating aspect value because this strategic value helps to give the employees, suppliers, and customers a strategic advantage through their capabilities. This advantage is what could put a company ahead of all the other. The second value is that the learning system should be used to advance the operational excellence in the learning and development functions of the company. Such examples are design, development, delivery, and management. To advance these functions would be very profitable for the company.

Tomorrow is the day that I am going to take an exam that my company is requiring all its employees to now take. I am a little nervous even though our managers told us not to be. I had never heard of the company giving the exam before, it's goes by the name of the prince2 examinations, so I did some research on it. They have a great exam modal and they give you lots of material to go over and tips and hints before you have to take the test. I am pretty confident that I will do well, I guess I will find out tomorrow.
